Smith Lake Alabama

12 days ago Stephen and I said goodbye to our first home as a married couple.
We hit the road, and a few pit stops later landed ourselves in Alabama.

We had a wonderful time at the lake.

Dinner on the lake

I successfully slalomed for the first time

Stephen wake boarded for the first time

We also jumped off cliffs which was a one time, never doing it again, experience.

We had a blast.
Stephen was able to see Smith Lake from a totally different perspective out on the water.
Now he understands why it is my favorite place in the world :)

Tetons

To celebrate Independence Day
Stephen and I traveled to the Tetons
to bask in the beauty of this country.
Another check off the bucket list.

Night 1 // Drive Up

Day 2 // Hike to Hidden Falls, Inspiration Point, and the Jenny Lake Loop

Took a dip in Jenny Lake.
I only went bum deep.  Stephen took the plunge.

Is it cold?
"Just like the rec center..."

MRE's for dinner at the campsite with a view of Grand Teton.

Day 3 // Lupine Meadows hike, Mormon Row, lunch at The Bunnery, drive home

All in all we saw deer, pronghorn, groundhogs, coyote, and bison
along with your traditional woodland creatures.

It was a fun visit.

Just be sure to print your directions.

Especially if you drive home a different way,
because chances are you will not have cell service the majority of the drive
and somehow you will detour WAY out of the way...

How did you celebrate Independence Day?
