Head Colds and Frozen Bananas

For the past week and a half, I have been out of commission with a terrible head cold.
Yay.

Even though we couldn't bike Provo canyon or hike a new mountain,
at least we were able to enjoy some of the little things in life :)

Provo Temple Trips
Sleeping all day
 Frozen bananas
 Engineering farewells
More bucket list temples

And the wedding of my beautiful friend Elizabeth!!
Elizabeth is the only person I have been friends with since infancy,
and still am friends with today!
Isn't she a babe?
Seriously,
the most beautiful red head I know.

Y Mountain and Moab

This weekend we checked a few more items off our

On Saturday we hiked Y Mountain

Sunday after church, we headed down to Moab.

We thought a reservation had been made for Devils Garden Campground in Arches,
but 2 hours down the road we realized our site was reserved for August.....
Moab on Memorial Day weekend is slammed,
so we decided to follow the Colorado River south into Cane Creek Canyon
and found a beautiful campsite down in the gorge.

My friend Tessa from BYUH and her cute family joined us!

Hiking Arches National Park

Did you do anything fun for Memorial Day?

Wrong Roads

"When making decisions, God expects us to pray, trust,
and be believing and then not give up, panic, or "jump ship"
when something doesn't seem to be going right."

This week, we had a similar experience.
Driving home from work on Tuesday, our car broke down.
Unfortunately, Stephen had to drive his boss to the airport
so he couldn't pick me up.
It took me 3 hours to get home when it should have only taken 20 minutes.

As it turns out, we need a new transmission.
Yay.

As terrible as the situation feels right now,
perhaps the Lord made it possible for us to go down a bad road quickly
in order for us to get into a better situation faster.

We have a lot of trips planned for this summer,
and it would have been horrible to break down
hundreds of miles away from home.

And,
because Stephen took his boss to the airport,
we now have his car to use until our repairs are done.

It's funny how the Lord works sometimes.
